I moved to the area a few months ago and received a personal recommendation for Helen at this salon. At my first appointment, after waiting 25 minutes past my appointment time, I had to leave. The salon didn't apologize -- they simply rebooked me. If you work FT like me, this is a problem. But I am new to the area and thought it best to offer a second chance. At my second appointment, things went alright. The service started only 10 minutes past my appointment time, and although two nails needed to be redone, we got there in the end. My third appointment was just... bad. She cut my skin twice to the point that it bled, and she painted polish all over my cuticles and my skin (telling me to "just wash my hands a lot, that it would come off"). Don't waste your money.

I went in for the first time today to get my gel manicure filled and absolutely loved it! The lady that worked with me did an excellent job! She was polite and very gentle with my nails. They exceeded my expectations and didn't cake and layer on the polish like other places have done. She did not rush it at all and made sure I was happy with my nails during each step. I am definitely coming back!

Okay so today was my first time going to this nail place. I wanted something simple. All white nails. Just to fill.I called the day before and made an appointment they were able to get me in which was awesome. Unfortunately after waiting 15 minutes past my appointment time my nails felt very rushed. I left the salon with nail polish all over my fingertips and nail beds. Plus the sign said $28 for a fill which is what I was getting. And I went up front to pay she took the card out of my hand and ran it and then handed me the receipt where I had already been charged $38. Unfortunately I'm not sure if I'll be back it's so hard to find a good nail place

They have done a great job making the nail salon Covid ready. Before the pandemic, the salon was clean and decorated in a calming matter. Since the pandemic they have added screens and additional cleaning procedures. They still offer a variety of services, I'm very happy with their gel and dip manicures as well as their pedicures.

The ONLY nail salon in Cville I will go to. Phuong and Nick are amazing; they’re attentive and talented technicians, and they hire great additional techs! I’ve gotten numerous pedicures, dip and gel over the last 5+ years and have never had a service less than stellar. Occasionally you will need to wait a few minutes for an appointment if the UVA students are in session and you go during a busy time, but I promise you it’s worth the wait! The salon is clean, and organized, and has an overall peaceful and relaxing vibe to it. Truly the only people I’ll trust with my nails in Charlottesville (and I’ve tried a LOT of salons over the years here). My most recent visit was for a soft, sheer, shimmer pink and Nick helped me pick the perfect gel shade!! I was in and out in about 30min today, which was perfect!!

We thought this would be the perfect place to take the bridal party to get their nails done....NOT! The lady that checked us in was very rude. My nail technician cut my finger when trimming my nails with the nail clippers. It took 10 minutes for it to stop bleeding. They still charged me for my service which is ridiculous. I called to speak to the owner once we got past the wedding and they refused and hung up.

The past few times I have gone here they did not take care to file my nails properly and clipped the sides off too much. This time they cut my toes up multiple times even after telling them they were hurting me. She then proceeded to put acetone on my cuts. When I told her my toe nails were literally slanted they did not adequately fix them because it was apparently too inconvenient. They left me in the chair for extended periods of time and to top it off the lady was picking food out of her teeth. I will not return.

I've been going to this salon for years and loving it, but I had a terrible experience here today that has made me not want to return or recommend this place to anyone. I got a gel manicure, and it was so messy and sloppy that I asked them to take it off. They didn't offer me a refund or credit for another gel manicure, despite the fact that I didn't end up getting one after paying for it. I'm conflicted about this review because I've gotten my nails done here by great technicians before, but there's so much disparity among the staff and it doesn't appear as though there's standardized training for everyone. You don't really know how your nails will end up looking - it completely depends on who you get.
